Duties
- Thoroughly clean guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to ensure a spotless environment
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all safety data sheets (SDS) and proper handling procedures for cleaning agents and disinfectants
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas such as hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and elevators through regular floor care and janitorial tasks
- Operate cleaning equipment including vacuums, floor buffers, and steam cleaners with precision and care
- Perform heavy lifting tasks when necessary to move furniture or supplies safely, adhering to manual handling guidelines
- Follow hotel housekeeping management protocols and emergency procedures to ensure safety at all times
- Document completed tasks accurately in daily reports and communicate any maintenance or safety issues promptly
Experience
- Previous hotel housekeeping experience or custodial experience is highly preferred; familiarity with hotel operations enhances your effectiveness
- Hands-on experience with floor cleaning, industrial cleaning techniques, and sanitation practices is advantageous
- Knowledge of chemical handling, safety data sheets (SDS), and proper use of cleaning equipment ensures safe work practices
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with guests and team members in a hospitality environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks including vacuuming, heavy lifting, and manual handling efficiently and safely
- Experience with hotel emergency procedures ensures preparedness for any situation that may arise during shifts
