Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic 2pm-10pm Charge Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as a key member of the patient care team, providing support during evening hours to ensure smooth Adult Home operations and exceptional patient experiences. The Charge Aide will oversee daily clinical activities, coordinate patient transfers, and assist aide staff in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care. Duties
- Assist aide staff with patient care activities, including manual handling, and patient transfer methods
- Monitor and document patient conditions accurately using electronic health records (EHR) management systems
- Support infection control protocols and maintain strict adherence to care facility infection prevention standards
- Coordinate communication between departments, caregivers, and patients to ensure seamless care delivery
- Operate medical equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining proper documentation of all procedures performed
- Assist with emergency response procedures, including First Aid when necessary
- Oversee patient safety measures, ensuring proper use of medical equipment and adherence to adult home policies during shift
Requirements
- Prior experience working in an adult home setting is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of emergency medicine procedures and long term care practices
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR), and medical documentation standards
- Ability to work effectively with geriatric patients and those requiring post-acute or sub-acute care
- Certification in First Aid required; additional certifications such as Geriatrics or Medical-Surgical experience are advantageous
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide compassionate caregiver support
- Ability to handle manual tasks safely while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
