Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A CDL vehicles, primarily lowboy trailers, for transporting heavy equipment and machinery.
- Load, secure, and unload heavy equipment ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and inspection reports as required by DOT regulations.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transport.
- Adhere to all safety standards related to heavy hauling operations, including proper securing techniques and load distribution.
- Assist with maintenance or minor repairs on equipment as needed to ensure vehicle reliability.
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Must have proven experience with lowboy trailers and heavy equipment hauling.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to heavy hauling.
- Ability to operate large commercial vehicles safely under various conditions.
- Excellent organizational skills for route planning and load securing procedures.
- Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks and secure heavy loads as required.
- Reliable work ethic with a focus on safety, punctuality, and professionalism.
