Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Area Nurse (Registered Nurse) to oversee clinical training, education, and operational management across multiple dialysis clinics in a defined region. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high standards of patient care, staff development, clinical compliance, and operational efficiency.
The Area Nurse will act as a clinical leader and educator, supporting ongoing staff training, home dialysis programs, physician collaboration, and the overall success of each facility under their oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support & Oversight
- Provide nursing coverage during staff absences or emergencies.
- Round on Home Hemodialysis (HHD) and Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) patients, including training in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).
- Support multiple patient admissions and hospital on-site assessments.
- Assist with clinical documentation (hospitalizations, QAPI, anemia, etc.).
- Conduct clinic audits, emergency drills, and mock codes.
Training & Education
- Lead orientation and ongoing clinical education for staff across multiple dialysis clinics.
- Develop and deliver educational content on dialysis procedures, infection control, and emergency protocols.
- Assess and monitor staff competency, offering constructive feedback.
- Stay current on best practices, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies in dialysis care.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment for nursing staff.
- Address training gaps, clinical issues, and performance concerns.
- Mentor junior nurses and promote professional development.
Operational Management
- Ensure smooth day-to-day clinic operations including staffing, scheduling, and patient flow.
- Work with clinic managers to address operational or resource challenges.
- Monitor patient satisfaction and work to continuously improve the patient experience.
Patient Care & Safety
- Ensure safe, effective, and timely dialysis treatments in accordance with protocols.
- Oversee patient assessments, documentation, and clinical follow-ups.
- Advocate for patients and promptly resolve any care concerns.
Collaboration & Compliance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nephrologists, dietitians, and social workers.
- Review and accept patient referrals and orders.
- Coordinate medication and antibiotic updates with physicians.
- Support QAPI and CIPA efforts, chart reviews, and regulatory audits.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an active, valid license.
- BSN preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Experience in training, mentoring, or educating clinical staff.
- SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) RN experience is a strong plus.
Skills
- Exceptional communication, teaching, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to assess clinical skills and provide coaching.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- EMR and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in or coordinating care within Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).
- Strong leadership abilities and the ability to foster team collaboration.
Work Environment
- Travel: Required within the assigned region to support multiple clinics.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday; occasional on-call or weekend duties may be required.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
