Overview

Working under the overall direction of the Residence Manager, has the responsibility for night and morning staff coordination and program implementation and for coordination of overall household operation and maintenance.  To support and promote the philosophy and mission of Heritage Christian Services, Inc. 

 

Pay for this position: $22.10/hr

 

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Responsibilities

  • Assign overall staff responsibilities on night and morning shifts.
  • To provide ongoing supervision of staff to assure that quality care is being provided and the Agency’s expectations are being met in the areas of: 3IP, personal care duties, medication administration, household duties, advocate duties, team work, Christian principles, and miscellaneous duties.
  • To provide regular feedback to employees concerning their job performance in both written and oral form. Positively reinforcing appropriate job performance and correcting, instructing, or reminding employees of inadequate job performance.
  • To provide current outline and checklist of day or evening residential staff responsibilities, including clear delineation of duties assigned to specific staff in such a way to assure continuity of service.
  • Assign specific staff to medication administration, meal preparation and household tasks, on a daily basis working from the staff schedule. Working with the Residence Manager, coordinate daily staff- to- individual assignments according to their needs.
  • To participate in and coordinate in the morning activities. Provide support to and supervision of assigned counselors.  Establish and maintain consistent routine care during morning hours.
  • Contact programs with information pertinent to residents in a timely manner.
  • Assure day-to-day coordination of transportation to day program.
  • Assist with transportation of resident who becomes ill at day program, and to care for residents who are too ill to attend their day program.
  • To administer medications in accordance with Agency medication policy.
  • Coordinate fire drills for morning and night shifts quarterly, providing appropriate documentation.
  • To regularly attend and contribute to staff meetings.
  • Assist with transporting of residents to appointments necessarily scheduled during the program day within shift hours, as determined by the Residence Manager.
  • To be responsible for petty cash, as delegated by the Residence Manager.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES FOR FOOD:

  • Coordinate menu development with Dietitian with individual dietary needs of individuals as determined by their physician.
  • Purchase needed groceries and food preparations supplies on a weekly basis within the food budget. Provide invoices, receipts, and other required documentation to accounting office.  To be responsible for food stamp usage.
  • Assure the adequate storage and inventory of food and related items according to applicable health standards.
  • Plan and assure preparation of meals as prescribed by the menu in accordance with applicable health standards. Provide on going guidance and instruction to staff responsible for meal preparation.

    HOUSEHOLD RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain guidelines for household maintenance. Assign specific responsibilities to the night shift using a checklist system maintaining the accountability and continuity of service of the assigned staff.
  • In-service staff regarding proper maintenance of the home and its contents including resident’s belongings.
  • Assure that household maintenance responsibilities assigned to each shift are completed daily before the end of that shift leaving the household in good order.
  • Assure completion of laundry as necessary, daily. Oversee the maintenance of current clothing inventories for the residents.
  • Maintain a household inventory of supplies and assume responsibility for the orderliness of storage areas.
  • Make known to Residence Manager needed major appliance or home repairs and follow through with arrangements for corrective action. Take initiative for minor repairs, replacement or upkeep of appliances.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all inspections are completed on fire safety equipment.
  • Schedule regular ongoing cleaning of rugs, windows and floors. Maintain overall light maintenance regularly.
  • Arrange for seasonal maintenance/repair of appropriate equipment.
  • Qualifications

    • Minimum of High School diploma or high school equivalency; college experience preferred
    • Valid driver’s license that is in compliance with Heritage Christian Services’ motor vehicle record standards, and reliable transportation to and from work
    • Ability to work a rotation of shifts and overnight hours is required
    • Experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred
    • Physical ability to lift and assist people with any needed personal care; ability to follow through with SCIP-R physical intervention training procedures as needed
    • The ability to effectively communicate with individuals to further assure their growth and development are required
