Overview
A communications internship at Heritage Christian Services offers hands-on experience with strategic marketing initiatives for staff recruiting, fundraising,and promoting the agency's diverse lines of business like its farm, thrift store or health and wellness center. Student contributions include creating and coordinating assets for online content (e.g., copy and videos for social media and website pages) and much more.
Responsible for assisting with marketing communications to promote and support the mission, vision and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.
HOURS OF SERVICE: 20 to 40 hours per week, hybrid work with one day a week in the office and the ability to travel to the office/events when needed
Pay rate for this position: $15.50 / hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting
Responsibilities
- Contribute copy writing, design, photography or video to agency communications initiatives
- Support the creation of social media content
- Build online content, e.g., update website pages, create Constant Contact emails, etc.
- Conduct research and/or interview subjects for communications collaterals, e.g., Spirit newsletter
- Assist with PR efforts, e.g., collect information for and draft media alerts and press releases, plus post to community calendars and other media outlets.
- Offer fundraising and donor relations event support.
Qualifications
- Skilled in written and verbal communications
- Proficient in creating content, following, posting and monitoring for social media platforms
- Highly organized, a good listener, willing to take initiative and reliable
