Position Overview: Recovery Support Coordinator

The Recovery Support Coordinator is responsible for expanding recovery support services and leading the implementation of peer evidence-based practices at Heritage Behavioral Health Center. This role provides supervision, guidance, and support to Recovery Support Specialists, ensuring they obtain and maintain the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) and Certified Family Partner Professional (CFPP) credential. The Coordinator works collaboratively with clinical leaders, program managers, and community partners to enhance service delivery and foster a strong culture of recovery across the organization.

Core Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategies to expand recovery support services in alignment with best practices and community needs.
    • Lead the integration of peer evidence-based practices, including training and support for Recovery Support Specialists.
    • Provide individualized and group guidance, support and mentoring to assist Recovery Support Specialists in obtaining and maintaining the CRSS credential.
    • Conduct regular offering feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
    • Collaborate with clinical teams, program managers, and community partners to ensure recovery supports are integrated into services.
    • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
    • Facilitate team meetings to encourage communication, resource sharing, and recognition of team successes.
    • Advocate for and support Recovery Support Specialists, ensuring access to necessary training and career development.
    • Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders to strengthen the visibility and impact of recovery support services.
    • Stay current with trends, research, and policy changes in recovery support to inform program development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision
    1. Ability to provide coaching, mentoring, and support to Recovery Support Specialists.
    2. Skilled in creating individualized development plans.
    3. Ability to foster a positive team culture that promotes growth, accountability, and recovery-oriented values.
    4. Advocacy skills to support Recovery Support Specialists and ensure recovery services are represented at all organizational levels.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, leadership, clients, families, and community partners.
    2. Ability to facilitate meetings, trainings, and group discussions that encourage open communication and learning.
  • Clinical & Recovery Knowledge
    1. Knowledge of serious mental illness (SMI), substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions.
    2. Familiarity with recovery models, trauma-informed care, and peer-led evidence-based practices.
    3. Knowledge of the CRSS credentialing process, supervision requirements, and continuing education standards.
  • Program Development & Evaluation
    1. Ability to design, implement, and evaluate peer recovery programs that align with best practices.
    2. Skills in collecting, analyzing, and using data to inform decisions and improve program outcomes.
    3. Ability to balance innovation with compliance to agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Technology & Documentation
    1. Proficiency in using electronic health records and other software systems to track services, monitor outcomes, and complete documentation.
    2. Strong organizational and administrative skills, including accurate recordkeeping and reporting.

    1. Flexibility to adapt to evolving needs, ambiguity, and organizational change.
    2. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict-resolution skills.

    4. Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds regularly.

Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Certified Recovery Support Specialist
  3. Minimum of 21 years of age.
  4. A valid driver's license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of automobile insurance coverage are required.

Salary Range: $47,840 - $56,190 ($23.00 - $27.00 per hour), dependent on education and experience
