What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop & Facilities Assistant position at HERITAGE BEAM & BOARD?
DESCRIPTION: The Shop / Facilities Assistant aids in shop support, installations, material selection, and facilities maintenance. The goal of this position is to assist in whatever areas are deemed necessary for the needs of shop and yard. The All Around will report to Shop Lead, but will also work under the Facilities Lead depending on what the current needs are.
*Note that this job will start as a contracted position for the first 90 days. Benefits begin after the 90 day introductory period. There are also opportunities for bonuses based on performance.*
RESPONSIBILITIES BY AREA:
- Facilities — Organization and Maintenance to be defined by Facilities Lead
- Inventory Intake — Assistance with counting, sorting and recording material acquisitions
- Materials Selection — Materials pulled from Pull Tickets as Directed
- Job Tracking — Will be responsible for logging hours into specific jobs and tasks
- Kiln / Mill — Assistance with the loading and processing of materials
- Finish Room — Assist in Finish Room as needed (under Shop Lead)
- Shop Work — Assist with Shop Work as needed (under Shop Lead)
- Installation — Maybe be sent out on installations as needed (under Shop Lead)
- Deliveries — as needed
- Auto and Machinery Maintenance, labor and logging of labor
- May assist in demo, and general material processing
QUALITIES OF IMPORTANCE FOR THIS POSITION: An in depth understanding of the needs of Heritage Beam and Board. This position works to maintain cohesiveness of the needs of each project and the materials selected for it. This position helps out in whatever ways can best support the needs of the current workload.
