What are the responsibilities and job description for the Worksmart - DOT Clerk position at Hereford Regional Medical Center?
Job Summary:
Enrolls businesses and individuals in the physical and drug screening program and gathers this information for evaluation. Packages specimens to be monitored for drug and alcohol content. Conducts seminars pertaining to department needs. Performs secretarial work for the department. Follows the facility's policies and procedures, local, state and federal regulations. Committed to excellence through the continuous improvement of the quality of services delivered. Strives to continuously improve patient and employee satisfaction. And all other duties assigned.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
Contacts businesses and individuals concerning the Physical and Drug Screening program.
Conducts the program enrollment process for individuals and businesses.
Conducts screenings as needed.
Packages specimens to be monitored for drug and alcohol content.
Keeps the Manager of Worksmart informed on all proceedings regarding DOT programs.
Maintains proper work-flow information needed to operate the department functions.
Acts as an educational resource for community functions
Makes regular phone calls on prospective businesses to join Worksmart programs.
Conducts seminars on programs offered by the department.
Accurately types all correspondence and reports.
Composes routine letters when required.
Accurately types forms, logs, and schedules.
Makes revisions and changes to assure accuracy.
Orders and maintains proper level of supplies.
Files all correspondence and maintains a current up-to-date filing system to ensure expeditious retrieval.
Maintains appointment books and calendars.
Ensures proper charges and payments are recorded.

Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments and staff.
Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Attends committee, CQI and management meetings, as appropriate.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire, safety, emergency management and infection prevention and control.
Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices and assures compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory agencies pertaining to Worksmart operations.
Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.

Regulatory Requirements:
- High School graduate
- Technical Training:
Knowledge of health and drug screening and physicals. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Typing skills and general personal computer use.
- Complete Health.edu though Texas Tech Health Sciences must be renewed yearly.
Language Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Additional languages preferred.
