What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Medical Technician position at Hereford Regional Medical Center?
Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for providing emergency care and transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with established protocols, Hereford Regional Medical Center (HRMC) Policies and Department Guidelines. Safely operates emergency vehicles in compliance with all laws, HRMC Policies and Department Guidelines at all times. Accepts other tasks as assigned by the EMS Director. Committed to excellence through the continuous improvement of the quality of services delivered. Creates and maintains a culture to continuously improve patient and employee satisfaction.
Regulatory Requirements:
- Certification or licensure as an EMT-Basic by the Texas Department of State Health Services
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider completion
- Valid minimum Class C Texas Driver License with restriction “A” permissible
- Completion of the following Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800.A is required within 80 days of employment
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Field experience is preferred
- National Registry is preferred
EDUCATION/TRAINING PREFERRED:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) is preferred
