Software Engineer - Mapmaking

What's the role?

You’ll join a motivated team of map makers who load, manage, and compile global geospatial datasets. Together, you’ll build the foundation for high-quality digital maps used across a wide range of products and industries. Working with modern technologies, the team continuously enhances a scalable ecosystem that empowers customers to improve their business processes through maps, geospatial intelligence, and location-based services.

• Work with large-scale geospatial datasets to build and maintain high-quality digital maps
• Use modern technologies to efficiently process, manage, and integrate spatial data
• Contribute to developing and improving a scalable geospatial ecosystem
• Support new dataset onboarding and feature development to expand mapping capabilities
• Collaborate with team members to deliver reliable and accurate mapping solutions
• Help enable customers to leverage location-based services and geospatial intelligence

Who are you?

• Basic understanding of spatial data and the concept of building a digital twin of the real world
• Comfortable working with Java and Python in a development environment
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and an interest in scalable, distributed systems
• Understanding (or willingness to learn) modern software development practices such as CI/CD and test-driven development
• Open to collaborative coding, including working with AI tools and participating in code reviews
• Curious about new technologies in AI, data processing, and GIScience
• Eager to learn, experiment, and grow in a collaborative team environment
