JOB SUMMARY:
Manage the general accounting function and financial resources for all segments of the company.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Generate reports to assist management in financial decision-making
- Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies; review and approve account reconciliations in alignment with internal clearing policies
- Prepare and file various compliance returns, such as property tax returns and annual Secretary of State renewals, while providing timely and accurate submissions
- Conduct income statement and variance analysis to support business decisions
- Understand and oversee the flow of financial information across systems; leverage this knowledge to ensure data accuracy and identify gaps
- Recommend and implement improvements to streamline accounting procedures and enhance efficiency
- Collaborate in the development of budgets and forecasts; provide supporting analysis and insights
- Calculate, track, and report broker commissions accurately and in a timely manner
- Review and approve AP and AR transactions; assist with collections as needed
- Manage customer, vendor, and item set-up in the ERP system (NetSuite)
- Conduct variance analysis to identify financial trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement
- Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of financial transactions in the ERP system (NetSuite); confirm data utilized to track progress on key performance indicators (KPIs) is complete and accurate
- Prepare, post, review, and approve daily journal entries
- Assist in monitoring and managing cash activity and balances
- Assist with payroll administration, including processing sales commission calculations and posting payroll
- Serve as a proactive driver of operational and process improvements across all areas of responsibility
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
- 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience required; prior supervisory experience preferred
- ERP software experience required; Oracle (NetSuite) preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data, including payroll, incentive, and commission details, with the highest level of confidentiality
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Approximately 10% travel required to other company locations
