Job Summary
The hours for this position are afternoon hours, from 3pm-9pm. We are seeking a motivated and dependable Janitor to join our facilities maintenance team. You will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for a medical facility. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following all chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence guidelines.
- Use manual handling techniques for lifting, moving, and disposing of trash, supplies, and equipment in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, restocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the facility.
- Operate cleaning equipment efficiently, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and industrial cleaning tools to ensure optimal results.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly.
- Support custodial responsibilities such as window washing, light maintenance tasks like residential painting or minor repairs, and industrial cleaning when necessary.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks to ensure the environment remains safe and functional for staff and visitors.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow safety protocols diligently.
- Experience operating various cleaning equipment including floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and best practices for maintaining cleanliness in high-traffic environments.
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
- Familiarity with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus.
