Each Project Manager will lead one project and report directly to the Program Manager.

Candidates should be based in Maine or willing to relocate for the duration of the project.

Position Overview

The Senior Asset Delivery Project Manager will represent the client throughout the full project lifecycle, from detailed engineering and major equipment procurement through construction, commissioning, and closeout. Acting in an Owner’s Engineer capacity, this individual will oversee contract performance, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure successful project execution while protecting the client’s interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of a major 345 kV transmission project, including an approximately 200-mile transmission corridor and associated substation infrastructure.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, safety, change control, reporting, and overall execution strategy.
  • Oversee detailed engineering activities for transmission lines, substations, STATCOMs, and PAR equipment.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, client representatives, equipment suppliers, permitting teams, construction contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support procurement activities, including bid package development, technical evaluations, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and equipment delivery.
  • Serve as the Owner’s Engineer representative for engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
  • Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, quality, safety, schedule compliance, and adherence to contractual requirements.
  • Lead project meetings, executive reporting, risk reviews, issue resolution, and client communications.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies related to permitting, land access, supply chain constraints, equipment lead times, construction activities, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Support commissioning, energization, turnover, and project closeout activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 12 years of experience delivering utility-scale transmission, substation, or major power infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience leading high-voltage transmission projects, preferably at 230 kV, 345 kV, 500 kV, or higher.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-year capital programs involving transmission lines, substations, and major electrical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of substation systems and equipment, including STATCOMs, phase angle regulators, transformers, breakers, protection and controls, and related balance-of-plant systems.
  • Experience overseeing engineering consultants, OEMs, EPC/EPCM firms, and construction contractors.
  • Background in Owner’s Engineer, utility, transmission developer, consulting engineering, or capital project delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, risk registers, and executive-level reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in Maine and travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience working with utilities, ISO/RTOs, interconnection projects, transmission planning, or regulated utility environments.
  • Familiarity with FERC, NERC, and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Experience on large linear infrastructure projects involving permitting, environmental compliance, right-of-way, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience managing long-lead transmission equipment procurement and major electrical package deliveries.
