What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Billing & Insurance Coordinator position at Henzler Dental?
Henzler Dental is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced dental billing and insurance professional to join our team!
This position is designed to take the insurance, billing, and patient-account responsibilities off the plate of our Front Office Manager!
Your primary responsibility: You will take ownership of the dental billing and insurance side of the practice, including:
-Dental insurance verification and benefit review
-Accurate dental coding and claim submission
-Pre-authorizations/pre-treatment estimates
-Insurance claim follow-up
-Reviewing EOBs and insurance payments
-Posting payments and maintaining accurate patient ledgers
-Monitoring outstanding patient balances
-Following up on aging accounts
-Contacting patients regarding balances and insurance payments
-Communicating with insurance companies and resolving claim issues
-Identifying billing discrepancies and following them through to resolution
This is not an entry-level billing position. We are looking for someone who already understands dental insurance, dental terminology, coding, claims, EOBs, and patient accounts and can work independently.
You’ll also be part of the team. We’re a small, busy practice, so everyone pitches in.
When needed, you may also:
-Answer phones
-Help patients at the front desk
-Check patients in and out
-Help with front-office tasks
-Provide occasional clinical assisting support when another team member is out

Warm and personable. You’re comfortable talking to patients and insurance companies and can explain billing issues without making patients feel uncomfortable or judged.
Flexible. You understand that in a small dental practice, your day may not look exactly the same every day.
