What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biostatistician position at Hensley Biostats?
Seeking self-directed, creative, fully-remote biostatistician-scientist for immediate hire in vital role in small biostats consultancy. You will collaborate with project manager, other biostatisticians, and company director to help biotech clients develop and analyze clinical studies towards FDA / CMS approval, academic publications, etc. Opportunity for significant growth and for wearing multiple hats as the company expands, if desired. In our small company, your biostats work may be the complete representation of our company as we develop new customer relationships, so your creativity, rigor, and attention to detail will have a direct impact on company success.
Responsibilities
- Read academic articles to develop understanding of client technologies & relevant stats methods
- Perform power and sample size calculations
- Write protocols and statistical analysis plans based on input from clients
- Receive and assess data deliveries
- Perform ad hoc statistical analyses
- Develop statistical programming for analyses based on SAPs
- Validate statistical results of other biostatisticians
- Review and edit written deliverables
- Attend client meetings and contribute to strategic discussions
- Document workflow within project management systems to coordinate between team members
Qualifications
- At least 10 years experience working in clinical trials, including experience with medtech, which is the majority of our client base
- Expertise in coding with SAS and R and comfort with CDISC/SDTM/ADaM
- Very good writing and study design skills - high attention to detail and strategic ability in writing study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and academic papers
- Strong scientific background and ability to take on and understand new projects across technologies and disease spaces
- Very strong creative problem solving skills - we work with many earlier-stage companies, and our service involves helping strategize their scientific and clinical study goals in addition to doing rigorous biostatistics analysis
- Very self-directed. Workflow in our small, completely remote team involves significant autonomy and self-direction.
