JOB OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for assisting in the supervision and the general activities and processes of the Accounts Payable Department. Ensures that AP functions are performed accurately and in a timely basis. Reconciles AP subsidiary ledger to the GL, and prepares all relevant AP accruals for financial reporting. Compiles information for the purpose of analyzing vendor prices and quality according to “industry standards” and “best practices”. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides technical oversight to AP staff, and ensures staff is performing at peak levels and following all policies and procedures in their invoice processing, coding and check printing. Ensures functions are performed accurately and in a timely manner. Reconciles relevant AP reports including, but not limited to: AP aging report Temp employment agency expense reports UPS expense reports Health, Dental and Life Insurance expense reports Training and employee expense reports Reconciles AP subsidiary ledger to the GL and researches and resolves reconciling issues. Oversees AP accruals based on factual, verifiable data including preparing a report of unfilled PO’s for month-end accruals, and tracks down any unresolved PO’s. Reconciles and reimburses Petty Cash each month. Assists Accounting Manager with other Close related processes as needed Ensures that all W9 forms are received from vendors, and that vendor files are updated and accurate, including new vendor set up. Provides input of regular reviews and evaluations for other members of the team, acting as the team lead and resource for the department. Oversee “Procure to Pay” Sox Testing and insure timely completion and accuracy of tests Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Solid understanding of AP and AP process. Excel spreadsheet and Basic Word knowledge and skill a must. Experience with Great Plains Accounting helpful. Detail oriented. Great organization skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to get along with other managers, peers, and subordinates a must. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Typically High School education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training. Bachelor’s degree preferred. The posted range for this position is $39,269-53,995, which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role.
