Job Summary
The PPC is responsible for expediting patient admissions from all avenues (ER, Direct Admits, PACU, Cath Lab, etc.) as well as inpatient transfers in a timely manner focusing on the Patient Throughput targets. The PPC will have the ability to coordinate with the Administrative Supervisor to screen for Level of Care appropriateness and any special requirements around the bed requests (i.e. Isolation, Custody, Dialysis, etc.) Serves as point person for patient placement with a goal to centralize patient flow with the Administrative Supervisor.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Kronos, Meditech and Utilization Review preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
- NA
Education:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Satisfactory completion of at least 1 semester of Nursing School required, to include Nursing Assessment course
- One year of recent (within the last 6 months) clinical experience can be used in lieu of Nursing School requirement
Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year clinical experience
- Understanding in Interqual admission criteria and has computer skills to enter information into the various required electronic databases.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with customer service and team approach to daily work activities.
- Organizational and time management skills required.
Salary : $26 - $41
