Associate Scientist - VESPER

HJF is seeking an Associate Scientist to support and conduct a research project. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products, and problems. Develops new technologies and protocols.

This position will be in support of the Complex Exposure Threats Center of Excellence (CETCE) at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. This research position will support the center’s human subjects research portfolio focused on environmental exposures and health outcomes, by focusing on managing and implementing a health monitoring research protocol and contributing to a collaborative project. Applicants who can support and independently oversee research methodology implementation, achieving clearly defined scientific objectives, will be given priority. The selected candidate will lead and coordinate with staff to ensure successful project execution, including meeting milestones related to data sharing and sponsor reporting. Responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of data collection, analysis, and interpretation to maintain high standards of quality and integrity. Adherence to research protocols and data accuracy is paramount, including the cleaning and scoring of measures for comprehensive statistical analysis and modeling. The Associate Scientist will provide oversight and review for junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment. The role also involves coordinating with internal and external project collaborators to ensure the seamless integration of multidisciplinary efforts. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsive to project timelines, resources, and ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.
