Scheduled: Contingent/Days Shift- 7:00am-7:30pm
GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area.
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients, visitors, and new admissions. Answers general inquiries and schedules patients for appointments. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
- Performs general clerical duties including filing, email correspondence, and mail distribution. Creates various reports and documents as assigned. Helps patients/residents with basic technology and social media.
- Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care.
- Performs unit safety checks. Assists with meeting patient needs and escalates as appropriate.
- May assist with meals, pass and collect trays, pass out activities, and transport patients/residents through facility.
- May assist with stocking supplies and keeping unit and patient rooms clean and orderly.
- May maintain staff schedules and timekeeping as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. - Preferred use of administrative skills in a hospital setting,
- BLS through the American Heart Association preferred.
- Medical Terminology and strong computer skills preferred
- Hospital experience as a unit clerk preferred.
