Schedule: Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday
Unit Description:
Henry Ford St John Hospital's 1 East Neurology Unit is a 22 private bed Joint Commission Certified Stroke specialty intermediate care unit with telemetry capabilities. Specialized care of hemodynamically stable adult stroke patients includes patients that may require neuro-endovascular interventional and thrombolytic medication with concurrent cardiac complications. Nursing staff are skilled to administer titratable vasoactive and inotropic intravenous medications as well as antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and thrombolytics.
- Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
- Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BSN preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Prior Critical Care nursing experience.
