BestChoice is Henry Ford Health System’s internal staffing resource pool, designed to ensure there is sufficient staffing throughout our health system. BestChoice provides a proactive solution to unplanned or short-term staffing needs due to vacations, unscheduled absences, leave of absences, increases in census or acuity. Position requires a minimum of two 12 hour shifts/month
RN must select 3 hospitals to float between
The NICU RN will be responsible for the following:
- Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care
- Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team
- Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED:
Current license by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AHA)
- 24 - 36 months of recent experience working in a NICU
