GENERAL SUMMARY: Reporting to the Access/Referral Management Supervisor or Manager, the Referral Coordinator I is responsible for efficiently processing referrals, scheduling specialist appointments, and ensuring seamless coordination of patient care. This role involves leveraging various technologies and workflows while collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to maintain optimal service delivery. Exhibits strong judgment, flexibility, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and effective referral processing, and fostering positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in registration and appointment scheduling in a healthcare setting.
- One (1) year of experience in clinic appointment scheduling and working with electronic medical records (EMR), particularly EPIC.
- Customer service experience, with demonstrated professionalism in handling patient and provider interactions preferred.
- Previous experience working directly with providers is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong working knowledge of EPIC or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
