Underground Utility Laborer

Henry Excavating is looking for an experienced underground utility laborer and mini excavator operator who wants more than just another labor position.

We are a smaller, owner-operated excavation company performing water service replacements, sewer repairs and replacements, downspout and drainage installations, trenchless work, and residential and commercial excavation.

You will work directly alongside the owner and play an important role in how projects are planned and completed. At a larger company, a dependable employee can easily become just another number. Here, your experience, ideas, effort, and workmanship will be noticed.

Responsibilities

* Perform underground waterline replacements and installations
* Complete sewer repairs and replacements
* Install downspout and drainage systems
* Operate mini excavators and other equipment
* Install, grade, bed, connect, and backfill piping
* Work safely around existing underground utilities
* Load, unload, clean, and care for equipment and materials
* Protect customer property and leave jobsites clean
* Assist with job planning and solving field problems

What We Are Looking For

* Previous underground utility, excavation, sewer, waterline, drainage, plumbing, or sitework experience
* Mini excavator operating experience
* Ability to perform physical labor in addition to operating equipment
* Dependable, punctual, and able to work without constant supervision
* Willingness to take pride and ownership in each project
* Good judgment and the ability to think ahead
* Respect for customers, coworkers, equipment, and property
* Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record strongly preferred
* CDL is helpful but not required

This is a full-time position with work typically scheduled Monday through Friday. Occasional longer days may be required depending on weather and job conditions.

Pay will be based on underground utility experience, equipment operating ability, driving qualifications, and overall skill level.
