Essential Duties:
- Coordinate, administer, and monitor all school-level WBL programs in accordance with federal, state, and district rules, regulations, and guidelines for Work-Based Placement (Youth Apprenticeship).
- Coordinate WBL programs with industry, businesses, post-secondary institutions, private business schools, GA Department of Labor, and Henry Chamber of Commerce to establish sponsors and work sites.
- Coordinate with applicable staff in selecting and placing students into appropriate programs and/or work site locations; provide orientation and training for all program partners.
- Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress; identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve problems.
- Manage student behavior inside and outside the classroom according to established guidelines.
- Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback on student work.
- Observe and assess student performance and development.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development, as well as required documentation from the DOE, i.e., C-Net, Annual Reports.
- Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments.
- Participate in district, school, department, parent meetings, and WBL region meetings and conferences.
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate in a CTAE discipline or be eligible for a work-based learning endorsement.
- Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
- Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
