What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Medical Surgical 2S and 3T position at Henry County Medical Center?
The Clinical Nurse Leader of the Medical Surgical In-Patient Unit assists the Director of In-Patients in all clinical care responsibilities including oversight for patient care. The clinical nurse leader will drive clinical care on the unit in a continuous state of improvement with a goal of reducing patient harm events and optimizing patient well-being and independent living. Considerable judgment, motivation, and creativity are required to manage assigned patient areas, and to interact with nursing staff, physicians, and patients to assure effective patient care. Work also involves observing the work of staff members to evaluate their job performance and to ensure an acceptable standard of nursing care. The In-Patient clinical Leader conducts staff meetings to discuss unit operations. Direction is required for the in-Patient Director, and performance is evaluated through observation, conferences and reports to performance on the job and the overall effectiveness of nursing on the assigned areas of responsibilities
Registered Nurse license in Tennessee, Kentucky or as appropriate through the compact state licensure criteria/qualifications. BSN & MSN preferred.
Three years' experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably with one year in a management position. Proficiency in current practices and techniques in specific area of clinical expertise as acquired through clinical experience.
Employee must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification with 6 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment.
Employee must obtain Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 9 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment
Labor and Delivery NRP and ACLS required within 9 months of hire date
Employee must obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification within 9 months of hire date and maintain continuous certification throughout their employment.
Failure to maintain the above certifications may result in corrective action.
