IT Support Specialist

Henry County is seeking an IT Support Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for technology support across county departments. This position provides front-line technical support, assists users with hardware and software issues, assists with technology inventory, and supports county technology operations. The position also assists the IT Director with infrastructure projects, system maintenance, and other technology-related initiatives as needed.

Occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call work may be required to support county operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee technology support requests and provide timely, professional technical assistance.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, software, and other technology equipment.
• Create, modify, and manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, peripheral, and connectivity issues, including basic computer hardware repair and component replacement.
• Assist with maintaining inventory records and assist with the deployment, replacement, and lifecycle management of county technology assets.
• Document support activities, maintain technical records, and assist with user training.
• Assist with network cabling, equipment installations, technology projects, system maintenance, and other infrastructure-related tasks under the direction of the IT Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Director.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience providing technical support in a professional environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience with workstation deployment, printer support, and hardware repair.
• Basic networking knowledge.

Starting Wage: $26.12 – $36.03 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
