Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing personnel activities daily and participates in the delivery of general nursing duties. 
• Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order. 
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents. 
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients. 
• Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress. 
• Has daily responsibility in areas of personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed personnel, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Requires a basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods utilized for delivering nursing care and the management of patients and personnel.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana RN licensure required.
• Work requires the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms which is normally acquired.
• Requires ACLS, PALS and TNCC to be completed within twelve months of hire date.
• Must have one year experience in an acute care facility.
