General Statement of Duties

Provides training to adults with intellectual disabilities and other secondary disabilities in the Supported Employment Program; provides case management services; does related work as required.
Essential Duties
Please join a dynamic team serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Duties include providing supports at Hermitage Enterprises Day program, in the community participating in many types of community activities and possibly on small mobile work crews. No two days are ever the same! We are looking for someone who has experience with individuals with cognitive or developmental disabilities, understands the importance of person-centered thinking, offers choice to individuals, and promotes independence. Duties include carrying a small caseload, writing plans that meet Medicaid Waiver requirements and writing daily notes in addition to the direct service. Bachelors in human services areas are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or other related field; OR , any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Additional Information
This position operates within a team environment. Requirements include lifting of over 50 pound rarely; walking, stooping, bending, and pushing/pulling on a periodic basis. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is required, preferably working with individuals in community employment settings. Knowledge of the Medicaid Waiver and DARS systems is an asset. Ability to network and interact with the business community for employment of individual with disabilities is preferred. Annual training includes but is not limited to CPR/First Aid, Therapeutic Options, and Human Rights. This position requires a Bachelor of Science in a social services field, such as Human Services, Special Education, Social Work, or other related field.
Valid Virginia driver's license is required. TB Screening and Child Abuse Registry Check required, upon hire.
A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee.
Expected salary low to mid-range of listed salary scale.
