Develops and implements curriculum aligned with industry standards to prepare high school students for successful careers in trade and industrial occupations. Emphasizes skill development, safety practices, employability skills, and real-world application to support student readiness for postsecondary training, certification, or direct entry into the workforce.

These efforts ensure students are equipped to effectively assist mental health professionals across diverse clinical healthcare and community-based environments.

Essential Duties
- Deliver competency-based instruction aligned with Virginia CTE Resource standards for Mental Health and related pathways.
- Provide comprehensive instruction on foundational mental health topics, including: Fundamental mental health and behavioral health concepts, therapeutic modalities, emergency medical response and crisis intervention protocols.
- Supervise students across classroom, lab, and work-based environments, ensuring regulatory compliance and safety.
- Integrate career exploration and leadership development through participation in CTSOs such as HOSA.
- Collaborate with administrators, counselors, and industry partners to support student professional success.
- Plans, delivers, and assesses instruction using a competency-based education model.
- Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of curriculum, instructional practices, and industry trends.
- Maintains a working knowledge of current industry safety standards and ensures their incorporation into instruction.
- Supports and promotes student participation in internships and apprenticeships with local employers.
- Attend work daily and fulfill all assigned responsibilities.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to refine instructional practice.
- Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and required documentation.
- Uphold all school and district policies, including professional and ethical standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This is a 11-month (239-day) position with a contractual start date of July 30, 2026.
- Salary will be prorated based on the official start date.
- Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted by the school program.
Minimum Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare, human services, or a related discipline.
- Hold a valid professional license or certification as a practitioner in the instructional field (e.g., Nursing, Mental Health, or Counseling).
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent, relevant occupational experience.
