"Remote" Technical Service Representative / Field Service Engineer (Confidential)
Minneapolis / St. Paul Region | $90,000–$95,000 Base 10% Bonus Company Car
Travel ~50% | Home-Based
A stable, global manufacturing organization is seeking a Technical Service Representative to support advanced testing and instrumentation equipment across multiple industries including automotive, aerospace, energy, and materials science.
This is a high-impact, customer-facing role supporting complex capital equipment used for product durability, environmental simulation, and material testing. The organization is known for low turnover, strong tenure, and long-term career growth.
What You’ll Do
- Perform installation, startup, repair, and calibration of advanced testing equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in the field
- Support customers with training, system configuration, and upgrades
- Diagnose issues using schematics and system logic (e.g., circuits, components, system failures)
- Partner with customers to support service contracts and long-term maintenance programs
- Document service activity and manage customer interactions through CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in machine maintenance, field service, or technical support
- Hands-on troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical/electronic, and software systems
- Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics and diagrams
- Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to train and support users onsite
- Willingness to travel ~50% regionally
Nice to Have
- Experience with calibration, sensors, or testing equipment
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar)
