Under the guidance of an Electrical Supervisor, the Surface Electrician performs advanced installation, maintenance, repair, and construction tasks related to electrical systems. This role requires a high level of expertise and independent problem-solving in a dynamic operational environment.
MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in electrical tasks and a solid understanding of related skills such as welding (electric and gas), rigging, pipefitting, machinery setup and operation, metal fabrication, and general construction, maintenance, and installation work.
• Conduct maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and installations of electrical systems and equipment, leveraging technical expertise, teamwork, and analytical abilities.
• Interpret detailed electrical diagrams and technical drawings to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Occasionally perform minor carpentry or painting tasks and assist in mentoring less-experienced team members.
• Support senior electricians when needed, or independently lead tasks and guide others within the scope of capabilities.
• Utilize a wide range of tools and equipment essential to electrical work, interpret technical plans, and apply basic mathematical principles effectively.
• Perform routine maintenance duties, including lubrication, cleaning, and equipment inspections.
• Diagnose and address electrical malfunctions across various machinery and systems in the facility.
• Handle battery maintenance and servicing tasks in multiple work environments.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure tools are kept in optimal condition.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Certifications/Affiliations Required
