Mold Technician - Level 3
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This is not an entry-level technician role. We are seeking a highly capable Mold Technician with strong injection molding experience, advanced troubleshooting ability, and the mechanical skill to keep production moving at a high level. This position plays a critical role in mold performance, process control, quality assurance, start-ups, changeovers, and operator support in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to solve problems quickly while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.
- Perform all duties of Level 1 and Level 2 Mold Technicians, plus additional advanced responsibilities
- Demonstrate resin experience with Nylon, Poly Pro, TPV, and other comparable materials
- Work with Class A show surfaces and critical part surfaces
- Apply prior experience
- Interpret and work from technical drawings with accuracy
- Operate machine tools including manual mill, lathe, welding, TIG, micro TIG, and related equipment
- Perform complete mold tear-downs and repairs
- Perform and direct mold and material change processes
- Ensure mold setup, changeovers, and housekeeping standards are achieved
- Support new job start-ups and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper performance
- Partner with production personnel to ensure molded parts meet quality requirements and make adjustments as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve processing problems through normal adjustments and technical checks
- Ensure molding machines and supporting systems are set to correct parameters and operating toward production goals
- Verify process parameters and implement changes, when appropriate, to improve cycle times
- Inspect parts to confirm they meet customer specifications
- Stop production as needed to address quality concerns
- Review and inspect machines daily for maintenance issues and report findings to the Maintenance Department
- Train, monitor, and coach machine operators to ensure proper procedures are followed
- Follow all cleanup and housekeeping procedures
- Comply with all safety, quality, and work rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
