Retail Assistant Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Retail Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our grocery store, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading a team of associates. This position requires strong communication skills, a knack for sales, and the ability to manage various tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train retail staff to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Manage cash handling procedures, including operating the cash register and ensuring accurate transactions.
• Market store promotions and products effectively to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.
• Communicate regularly with team members to foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork.
• Assist in budgeting processes by monitoring expenses and inventory levels to optimize profitability.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store to provide a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
• Collaborate with management to implement strategies that improve store operations and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a retail environment, preferably within a grocery store setting.
• Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to market products and sell effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Proficient in cash handling procedures with experience operating cash registers.
• Strong customer service orientation with a focus on meeting customer needs.
• Basic knowledge of budgeting principles is preferred but not required.
