Hengshuai Automotive Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations by maintaining and improving quality performance and documentation. This role focuses on APQP deliverables (PFMEA, Control Plans), work instructions, customer complaint containment and corrective actions, and audit readiness (IATF 16949/TS). The Quality Engineer works cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and the New Project Development team to prevent defects and ensure customer requirements are consistently met. Occasional CMM operation support is also required.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport day-to-day quality activities for manufacturing operations (product and process quality).
Develop, update, and maintain quality documentation (procedures, forms, records, work instructions).
Support APQP deliverables for new launches, including:
PFMEA development and updates
Control Plans (creation, revision, implementation)
Alignment to AIAG manuals and customer-specific requirements
Ensure operator work instructions and visual aids are implemented and maintained at point of use.
Support inspection and test requirements as defined in Control Plans; verify execution and recordkeeping.
Provide occasional dimensional inspection support using a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), including running defined inspection routines and documenting/reporting results (CMM programming is not required).
Assist with nonconforming material control, including containment, MRB/hold processes, and prevention of nonconforming shipments.
Support investigation and response to customer complaints/nonconformities, including root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone) and corrective/preventive actions (8D preferred).
Prepare and maintain PPAP documentation packages as required by customers and program timing.
Support internal and external audits (IATF 16949/TS, customer audits) by preparing documentation and corrective actions tied to assigned work.
Maintain accurate and organized quality records (electronic and/or paper).
Promote continuous improvement activities (5S, defect reduction, process control).
Perform other quality engineering support duties as assigned.
Associate degree (or higher preferred) in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in tier automotive manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience supporting launch activities in an international organization.
Working knowledge of automotive quality tools and expectations: APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP.
Exposure to IATF 16949/TS audit expectations preferred (participation/support role).
Strong problem-solving skills (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D).
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interpret technical/customer requirements and write clear reports and procedures.
Ability to work with basic math and measurement concepts (percentages, proportions, basic algebra/geometry).
Working knowledge of 5S and shop-floor discipline.
Proficiency with documentation tools (Excel/Word) and controlled document systems.
CMM operation experience to execute established routines and document results (programming not required).
Occasional travel to customer locations may be required and may include overnight trips.
