Position Purpose
Perform shipping/receiving responsibilities of Lower Bay. Support the timely and accurate processing of all documents. Interface with internal and external personnel to address and resolve issues associated with the transportation of products. Perform a wide variety of related functions as directed by the Lower Bay Prototype Manager.

Perform shipping/receiving responsibilities of Lower Bay. Support the timely and accurate processing of all documents. Interface with internal and external personnel to address and resolve issues associated with the transportation of products. Essential Functions
- Perform receiving functions
- Label & put away received parts in the warehouse
- Process all shipping & receiving documents (i.e. Bill of Lading, export declarations, packing slips, receiving forms, etc.) in a manner consistent with accounting guidelines
- Manage inbound UPS shipments and maintain package receiving area(s)
- Package UPS orders
- Deliver UPS inbound packages to Hendrickson employees
- Perform shipping functions
- Schedule, load, & unload trucks
- Work with other plants to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner
- Maintain R&D shipping process (ISO controlled document)
- Negotiate freight rates, modes of transportation, claims, freight pick-ups, etc.
- Palletize freight - requires tow motor & high-lift operation certification
- Facilitate small shipment packaging
- Audit freight shipments to ensure integrity standards are met
- Schedule LTL trucking as needed
- Prepare periodic inventory & shipping/receiving reports
- Pick materials and distribute them on the production floor
- Maintain inventory control accuracy
- Maintain KANBAN
- Process RGA’s within a 30-day timeframe
- Process International Shipping Requests
- Transport/deliver critical business parts (must be DOT certified)
- Coordinate PBR’s & materials with engineers
- Interface with Test Area Supervisor for storage of test fixtures & indexing in inventory database
- Maintain 5S in the warehouse & production floor
- Share expertise of parts, locations, & usage with coworkers & vendors
- Occasionally travel to local Hendrickson plants & suppliers
- Perform customer tour preparations
- Manage facility basement storage systems
- Perform high-level customer & internal training tour preparations
- Interface with Engineering & Marketing to stage product displays for training purposes
- Interface with the Marcom group to stage product demo’s for videography
- Perform advanced value training for potential placement in other functional groups (i.e. Customer Service, Aftermarket, etc.)
- Mentor backup position personnel
- Crosstrain other Hendrickson personnel as backups for maintaining critical shipping & receiving tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lower Bay Prototype Manager
- Minimum High School Diploma 2- or 4-year technical degree a plus
- Detail oriented
- Computer literate/proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in manufacturing environment working with MRP system
- Ability to operate a tow motor
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 25lbs with occasional twisting, reaching, and out of position body placement
- Ability to maneuver and guide objects heavier than 25lbs with assistance from a crane, hoist, or other lifting device
- Ability to drive powered industrial truck for shipping/receiving functions
- Must be able to wear all required PPE - safety glasses, steel toe boots, and hearing protection when required
- Ability to perform all required job tasks in a heated/non-air-conditioned test laboratory - refreshments provided during hot seasons, regular “breather” breaks are encouraged in the air-conditioned office area
- Ability to remain seated at a computer workstation for data entry, several hours at a time - brief stretching breaks are encouraged to reduce muscle stiffness and eye fatigue
- Ability to pass a DOT physical to drive stake bed truck for pick up/delivery.
- NOTE: None of the physical lifting and manipulation within the job duties is repetitive.
