Position Purpose
This position is accountable for the operation of primary and support equipment on a production line in a manufacturing environment, for the safe daily operation of and the routine maintenance and upkeep of assigned equipment and work areas, and for producing parts that meet pre-determined quality standards within assigned time parameters.
Essential Functions
- Perform inspection on product utilizing total quality concepts
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as needed
- Accurately report daily activities and production data as directed
- Conduct required quality checks using basic measurement equipment
- Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards
- Exercise safe working habits while operating machines
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Coordinator
- Interact with technical support personnel and support downtime activities
- Develop knowledge of work instructions, inspection instructions and other documentation as required
- Follow proper material tagging procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement programs such as SMED, Kaizen, 5S and other programs as directed
- Positively identify that the part matches the blueprint
- Measure part to ensure part is within tolerance
- Maintain proper use of hand tools
- Perform routine TPM

- High School diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited school
Minimum Qualifications
- Must pass drug and alcohol screen
- Previous machining experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Must be able to read and write legibly
- Ability to function as an effective team member
- Ability to follow operation procedures and assess problems and recommend solutions to resolve problems
- Able to read and understand blueprints and geometric tolerances
- Ability to perform quality checks using calibrated digital micrometers, calipers and go/no go gauges to ensure product is within tolerance
- Must be able to meet production standards and follow instructions
- Mechanical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to work in a production environment is preferred
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers as well as fractions
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Minor computer skills requiring data entry into pre-existing forms and spreadsheets
