Dispatcher

The Towing Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and dispatching tow trucks and transport vehicles to service calls, ensuring timely and efficient service while maintaining excellent customer communication. This role requires multitasking, problem-solving, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple drivers and requests simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming calls and messages from customers requesting towing or transport services.
• Dispatch drivers to appropriate locations based on proximity, availability, and type of service.
• Provide accurate information to customers regarding estimated arrival times, service procedures, and costs.
• Communicate with drivers throughout their shifts to address issues, provide updates, and reroute as necessary.
• Schedule appointments and plan routes for efficient service coverage.
• Maintain detailed records of service calls, driver activities, and customer interactions.
• Collect payments from customers and ensure proper documentation of cash or electronic transactions.
• Prepare and submit reports for management, including daily service logs, call volumes, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with vendors, repair shops, and insurance companies as needed.
• Assist in obtaining permits for oversized or specialized loads when required.
• Use dispatch and management software (e.g., Towbook, QuickBooks) to track jobs, billing, and driver status.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in towing dispatch, transportation, or logistics preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Familiarity with dispatch software, GPS systems, and basic office software (MS Office, QuickBooks).
• Problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, informed decisions.
