What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator position at Hendrick Manufacturing?
Duties:
The individual who functions in this position must carry out all of the functions associated with being a Machine Operator in our Fabrication / Plate Department. To qualify as a Machine Operator, an individual must be able to perform all of the following:
- Maintain each Press according to maintenance procedures and diagnose and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Possess the ability to set up and operate the CNC Press Brake, Mechanical Press Brake and the Whitney Plasma Punch
- Produce product as described in the shop order, set proper die clearance, proper punch grade and apply proper lubrication.
- Read shop product as described on the shop order.
- Detect when a tool needs to be serviced, set up a tool accordingly and determine and set slide and stripper settings.
- Requires ability to multitask efficiently as required and perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School graduate or GED
Experience
- Trade/vocation certification preferred.
- 1 – 3 years’ experience operating CNC equipment in a manufacturing / industrial environment
- Ability to read a ruler, tape measure, drawings, micrometer and set calipers.
