What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Welder B (Welder Fabricator) position at Hendrick Manufacturing?
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under moderate supervision, welds metal parts together according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using welding processes for given work areas. (May also lay out guidelines on metal parts and cut metal with cutting torch.)
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Adjusts automatic welder properly for material being welded.
- Lays out and sets up own work.
- Welds parts and subassemblies per blueprints.
- Produces quality weldments and/or welding assemblies in one or more areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned by leader or supervisor.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
General knowledge of welding techniques, tools, equipment, and blueprint reading is preferred. Ability to read precision measuring tools is required. Skills may be gained through practical experience and/or on-the-job training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent climbing, bending, twisting and/or lifting approximately 55 pounds (and periodically heavier loads approximately 75 pounds) will be required. All welders must install 60 pounds spools of wire on own welding equipment, as necessary.
