What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Medical Assistant - Early Clinic position at Hendrick Health?
- The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible for providing information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from Hendrick Health services. Responsible for assisting the Supervisor and/or Manager in interviewing and training new staff. May be assigned to specific medical specialty department (e.g.; orthopedics).
- Minimum Education
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institutionora community college course in medical assisting
- Minimum Work Experience
- Minimum two years of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Electrocardiogram (EKG); vital signs; venipuncture; capillary; and injection current experience.
- Required Licenses/Certifications
- Current documentation of a national certification for the registered medical assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or for the certified assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or 10 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Must possess a current CPR certification and current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).
