The Warehouse Manager position is responsible for the complete oversight of all warehouse & transportation functions, including shipping, receiving, internal deliveries, and inventory management. The Warehouse Manager will lead the warehouse & transportation team, manage all outbound freight and logistics, and ensure accurate inventory levels for finished goods. This role requires close collaboration with all departments to optimize workflow, improve efficiency, and maintain a safe and productive environment.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, train, and manage the warehouse team to accurately fulfill outbound orders and efficiently process inbound shipments.
- Oversee and manage the internal delivery driver, including scheduling, route planning, and performance management.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive training library for the warehouse team, performing training for new hires and seasonal staff.
- Run recurring certified forklift training sessions for warehouse team members and all relevant production staff.
- Champion a culture of safety, ensuring all procedures are followed and the warehouse remains a safe working environment.
- Take full ownership of finished goods inventory management, including conducting monthly audits, performing regular cycle counts, and receiving purchase orders into inventory.
- Work closely with the sales department to notify appropriate parties if shortages are expected.
- Coordinate with the brewing and packaging teams to ensure raw materials are organized and stored properly.
- Own and optimize FIFO cooler organization, providing suggestions to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Ensure finished goods inventory and outbound shipments dates are accurately maintained within the ERP/MRP system.
- Schedule and manage all freight for wholesale outbound beer shipments and internal taproom deliveries.
- Manage freight carrier relationships, negotiate rates, and explore opportunities to maximize shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
- Prepare and oversee accurate shipping documentation such as bills of lading.
- Manage transfers of all beer and materials around the brewery, to wholesalers, and company taprooms.
- Maintain the dock schedule to keep all necessary parties informed and prepared for shipments and deliveries.
- Fulfill internal keg and package requests from Front of House (FOH).
- Work with vendors and manage external relationships related to freight.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or operations management role, preferably in manufacturing, food and beverage, or a related industry.
- Proven experience in shipping/receiving, freight booking, and inventory management.
- Strong leadership skills with experience training and managing a team.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP inventory systems (experience with EKOS, SAP Business One, or OrchestratedBeer is a plus).
- Proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite (excellence in Excel/Google Sheets is a plus).
- Outstanding internal and external communication skills and experience with vendor relationship management.
- Extremely organized with the ability to solve problems and take initiative in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Valid driver's license and previous forklift experience; forklift instructor certification is a plus.
- Ability to be on your feet for 8 hours a day and lift/move at least 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in non-temperature controlled and refrigerated environments.
- Knowledge of the craft beer industry and an appreciation for the culture is highly desirable.
- Ability to drive a large box truck is a plus.
- Multilingual (English, Spanish and/or Portuguese) is a plus, but not required.
