Quality Control Construction Inspector

Compensation: $80,000-$110,000

Description

A Queens-based general contracting firm is seeking a full-time Quality Control Field Inspector. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• 
  Visit project sites to perform quality control inspections of ongoing work.
• 
  Review contract documents, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and other project-specific materials related to quality control requirements.
• 
  Ensure project teams and subcontractors perform work in accordance with contract documents, submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs.
• 
  Complete inspection checklists using designated software.
• 
  Communicate deficiencies and issues to project teams.
• 
  Follow up with project teams to reinspect and resolve deficiencies.
• 
  Ensure inspections are completed on schedule.
• 
  Coordinate inspection schedules with project teams to align with current project timelines.
• 
  Communicate critical issues to the Quality Management Program Director as needed.
  
  

Required Skills

• 
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 
  Understanding of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
• 
  Strong attention to detail when inspecting work for compliance with plans and specifications.
• 
  Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, FTQ360, and Procore.
• 
  Experience with report writing, photo documentation, and uploading project information.
• 
  Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• 
  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• 
  Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  
  

Education & Experience

• 
  Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 
  Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• 
  30-hour OSHA certification required.

Job Type: Full-Time
Work Location: In person, Queens, NY, and various project sites throughout NYC and surrounding areas.
Work Authorization: Must be able to commute to Queens, NY.
