What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Estimator; NYC Construction position at Henderson Scott US?
The Estimator or Jr. Estimator, will essentially be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Works closely with the Senior Estimator to assist in day-to-day tasks.
- Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
- Analyze requirement documents, blueprints as well as project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
- Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product.
- Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service.
- Create labor estimates for any project.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors.
- Managing bids from vendors and contractors.
- Using bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis.
- Ability to present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders.
- Compiling and recording actual costs.
- Writes up and presents budgets, reports and project plans.
- Create Microsoft Project Schedules.
- Update Bid Calendar.
Qualifications:
- Construction Estimating experience.
- Project Coordination.
- Experience with Project Planning.
- Must be adept in working with Power Point.
- Experience with Microsoft Projects.
- Minimum 1-2 years estimating experience in the construction industry in NYC, New Jersey, or Connecticut
- Must be highly detail oriented.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of cost estimating software.
- Ability to read and understand plans/blueprints.
Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
