What are the responsibilities and job description for the Roofing/Siding Sales Representative position at Henderson Roofing?
Summary: To sell the company’s services to the public so as to generate a quality product for the customer and profit for the company.
Job Responsibilities
Communication:
- Maintains regular communication with the President, General Manager, Sales Manager, staff and field personnel, working cooperatively to develop methods and systems that are most effective for growing the business.
- Maintains company reputation of integrity and professionalism by communicating with customers in a professional manner, being punctual for appointments, returning phone calls promptly, etc.
- Assures that all necessary information pertaining to jobs is communicated to crew leaders as necessary (i.e. job colors, job scopes, scheduling, billing, etc.)
- Maintains open communication with Project Managers and Operations Manager, in order to remain knowledgeable of jobs and teams.
- Communicates with all employees in a positive and respectful manner.
- Set and achieve goals for sales volumes, closing rates and gross profits.
Sales and Estimating Responsibilities
- Attends all sales appointments on time.
- Prices new opportunities within 48 hours of the onsite visit with prospect using Company’s production rates.
- Returns incoming phone calls in a professional manner and within 8 business hours of call.
- Provides product differentiation to customer throughout selling process (assists customer in understanding exactly what they are paying for and why it is a superior product.)
- Effectively sells the company’s services to the customer in a competitive atmosphere by understanding the customers’ needs and selling to satisfy those needs.
- Helps jobs stay “happy and under budget.” Visits jobs sold as needed to maintain relationship with customers and crew.
- Maintain consistent follow-up procedures on all open bids. Get’s a “yes” or a “no” on all bids.
- Strive to target and market the most profitable jobs.
- Prioritizes work and actions in order to achieve established sales goals.
- Maintain closing % of at least 34%
- Develops a well thought out prospecting plan focusing on generating leads for the company.
- Participates in networking groups to establish business relationships and promote company.
- Stays current with market technology and trends.
- Utilizes all the tools and technology required by the company to maintain a smooth process. (i.e. CRM, CompanyCam, and other software programs)
Management Team Responsibilities.
- Demonstrates positive leadership through all actions with all employees.
- Attends all meetings on time.
- Works the necessary hours per week in order to perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new systems, helping to maintain and increase the company’s profitability and organization as it changes and grows.
- Assists in problem solving and implementing solutions.
- Participates in planning company growth and development and supports company mission by following through on initiatives.

Reporting and Accountabilities required of this role:
- Weekly Sales Meeting – report on progress of ongoing bids, won deals, weekly schedules, assisting with customer issues.
- Other weekly meetings as required – sales, marketing, operations, management, etc.
- Customer Appointments – good communication, timely response, on-time appointments, flexibility, the “Henderson Experience”.
Compensation and Benefits:
- This is a commission-only position and hours may be flexed. The expectation is to work a minimum of 40 hours each week and be available to correspond with management and team members Monday – Friday, between approximately 7:00AM – 5:00PM.
