We service our clients primarily in the NYC Metro area as well nationally through our AAFA and NPA networks.
Our client is a growing engineering consulting team in the Northeast region that is expanding its Civil and Transportation Engineering capabilities. These roles offer the opportunity to work on impactful infrastructure projects across roadway, highway, and traffic systems throughout New Jersey and New York. We are seeking experienced engineers in two closely aligned areas:
1) Civil / Highway Engineer – Roadway Design
This role focuses on the planning and design of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects, supporting both public and municipal clients.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Roadway and intersection design, including interchanges and pedestrian facilities
- Development of contract plans, construction documents, and bid packages
- ADA compliance improvements, parking layouts, and corridor enhancements
- Application of NJDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and local agency design standards
- QA/QC of design deliverables and coordination with multidisciplinary teams
- Use of design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads
2) Traffic / Transportation Engineer
This role focuses on traffic operations, safety analysis, and transportation system optimization.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Traffic signal design, timing, phasing, and coordination
- Preparation of maintenance of traffic (MOT), signing, and pavement marking plans
- Traffic impact studies, warrant analyses, and safety/capacity evaluations
- Modeling and simulation using tools such as SYNCHRO and HCS
- Data collection, analysis, and preparation of technical reports and presentations
- Support for multimodal considerations including vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles
Qualifications (Both Roles)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- PE license preferred (NJ/NY); ability to obtain within a defined timeframe acceptable for select candidates
- 5–10 years of relevant transportation or roadway design experience
- Strong familiarity with NJDOT, NJTA, county, or municipal projects strongly preferred
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and analysis software
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within team environments
Salary : $95,000 - $150,000
