What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Instructional Coach position at Henderson County Schools, KY?
Requirements:
Proper Kentucky teaching certification. The Elementary Instructional Coach must also hold a valid Supervisor of Instruction certification, Principalship certification OR Program Consultant certification in the area of specialization. (Consultant certification requires Masters degree, 3 years teaching experience and an active teaching certification).
This person must possess qualities of effective leadership and knowledge of instructional strategies for the elementary level. Communication skills and interpersonal traits that personify excellence will be necessary for this position. Excellent computer/technology skills are required.
Details:
Salary commensurate with years of teaching experience and rank plus stipend.
Working 200 days.
Start date July 1, 2024
This position is for the 2024-25 school year.
This position is considered a districtwide position. Placement most likely be at Jefferson Elementary.

Elementary Curriculum Specialist Job Duties:
- Shall assist the building principal in the total instructional program.
- Shall focus on the implementation of the Kentucky Instrucitional Standards.
- Shall model “best practice” teaching strategies across the content areas.
- Shall facilitate curriculum changes through modeling, leadership, professional development and coaching.
- Shall direct the implementation of cross-curricular integration.
- Shall lead teachers in determining the learning needs of their students and improvement of their performance.
- Shall direct the determination of research-based, developmentally appropriate programming (content and strategies) in consultation with the principal.
- Shall provide staff development activities when requested.
- Shall assist schools in communicating curricular issues to parents.
- Shall participate in additional trainings as deemed necessary by the schools/district.
- Shall possess a demonstrated capacity for training others, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies and other “tools” to change programming consistent with the program of studies.
- Shall lead teachers in the understanding of “team planning” as it relates to integrating curriculum and meeting individual student needs.
- Shall provide leadership in analyzing assessment data and determining areas of strength and weakness.
- Shall assist schools in implementing strategies to address areas of weakness as determined by analyzing assessment data.
- Shall assist teachers in designing integrated teaching units.
- Shall be actively engaged in continuous learning and updating of professional libraries. Shall direct alignment of curriculum after consulting with the school principal.Shall provide assistance in integrating technology into classroom instruction.
