What are the responsibilities and job description for the PEER SPECIALIST - IOP position at Henderson Behavioral Health?
Peer Specialist - Involuntary Outpatient Program (IOP)
Minimum of High School degree or equivalent. Some college preferred. Paraprofessionals may have a bachelor’s degree in a field other than behavioral sciences or a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Certified Peer Specialist desired; or applicant must obtain certification at the end of 12 months of employment. Must have experience in recovery from either mental illness or substance abuse by being a past recipient of public or private behavioral care services. Experience with individuals with mental illness or similar human-service’s needs, or other applicable experience desired. Previous experience in advocacy or similar roles are desirable. Experience with computer technology (using computer & PC software to support activities; Windows based programs, e-mail, especially Microsoft Office applications, keyboarding skills, printer, calculator, fax machine, MFP, copier) and other office tools efficiently in order to meet performance goals is necessary to the position. A valid Florida driver’s license and auto liability insurance are required.
