Staff Corporate Accountant - Great Opportunity to Learn, Grow & Advance! - West Omaha
Hemphill has been formally engaged by a wonderful, well-established, mid-sized, and steadily growing Omaha-based company to help them select and hire a Staff Accountant for a newly created role! The Corporate Controller is specifically looking for an early-career individual they can mentor and position for future growth as the company continues to exceed expectations and expand across the USA!

Your role will not be narrow. Instead, you will enjoy a variety of responsibilities that will accelerate your learning and professional development:
- Build your foundation in financial accounting: Work alongside staff and senior accountants as you learn the entire month-end close process. With excellent training and well-documented processes, you will feel set up for success as you grow more independent.
- Own key accounting responsibilities: Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, maintain journal entries and accruals, calculate depreciation, prepare trial balances, and take ownership of monthly close activities for your assigned jurisdiction.
- Put the numbers into context: Once the month is closed, dive into post-close analysis, data analytics, and business conclusions. Compare actual results to budget, investigate variances, and provide commentary explaining the differences.
- Enjoy variety beyond the monthly close: Take part in seasonal responsibilities, problem-solving initiatives, and special projects that provide exposure to budgeting, variance analysis, inventory and fixed asset reviews, and much more.
