Hemphill County Hospital District is seeking a dedicated and energetic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Rehabilitation & Therapy Services team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work across outpatient, inpatient, home health, assisted living, and senior living settings.

What You’ll Do:
- Patient Evaluation & Treatment: Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans to improve function, mobility, and independence.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide therapy using adaptive equipment, splinting, sensor-motor integration, and more.
- Supervision: Oversee certified occupational therapy assistants, therapy aides, and students.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient records in electronic health systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive techniques, and injury prevention.
- Participate in home assessments and patient support groups.
- Design and fabricate splints and adaptive equipment.
- Provide therapy for neurological integration and traumatic brain injury recovery.
- Administer prevocational programs to support return-to-work goals.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current Texas OT license
- Registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association
- BLS certification (can be obtained upon hire)
Preferred:
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
- One year of experience as a licensed OT (new grads encouraged to apply!)

- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing over 50 pounds.
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Repeated bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching
- Pushing/pulling up to 300 lbs and lifting up to 50 lbs (with limited assistance)
- Supporting patients who may become weak or require transfer assistance
